TikTok and Instagram Reels safe zones in pixels
Both apps use a 1080×1920 frame. TikTok covers about 134 px at the top, 499 px at the bottom and 130 px on the right, which leaves a clear box of roughly 907×1287 px. Reels covers a bit more at the top and less on the right.
Put your hook text, your face and your product inside the clear box. Everything outside it can end up under a caption or a button.

- Captions and the username sit at the bottom. Put on-screen text in the upper half of the clear box.
- The like, comment and share buttons run down the right side. Keep faces and products a little left of center.
- Posting one video to both apps? Use the Both overlay. It takes the strictest edge from each.
- These are organic-post numbers. Neither app publishes official ones, and the UI shifts a little with updates, so leave some extra room.
Safe zones for TikTok and Reels ads
Ads need more room. The Sponsored label and the call-to-action button push the bottom zone up.
For Reels ads, Meta asks you to keep the top 14%, the bottom 35% and 6% on each side clear. On 1080×1920 that's about 270 px at the top and 670 px at the bottom. TikTok doesn't give one fixed number for ads because it changes with your caption length and add-ons. Plan for roughly 660 to 700 px at the bottom and use the safe zone template inside TikTok Ads Manager.
